Animals in Space: A Collective Memoir

excuse me, a pardon copper pipes, cotton, medium, latex, 2018

The works in the exhibition construct stories in which the human animal is present–essential for re-forging the connection between our environment and fellow species. It is separation that causes loss of empathy, and loss of empathy leads to degradation. Excuse me, a pardon are sculptures that explore the psychosexual relationship between human and fabrics through a series of handkerchiefs. The work explores waste, residue, detritus or “wasted space” and how the body rejects or welcomes that in conscious and unconscious ways.
